Engineering and Technology

Making Science Relevant

Biological engineering affects us everyday -- in ways you might not imagine.

Researchers and students in Ag Sciences are studying nanotechnology to create fibers, detect food pathogens, and deliver medicinal drugs. They are finding microbes that can be exploited in the production of foods, fuels, and chemicals.

Our researchers design sophisticated processing systems which transform raw materials into consumer goods and machines to manage crops while protecting worker safety and the environment.

Ecosystem and natural resource technologies are being researched to come up with ways to provide flood protection, erosion control, clean air and water, and recreational opportunities. Through renewable products, wastes, and processes, the college's faculty members and students are gaining new insights into novel ways to produce alternative energy sources.
