Turfgrass Science
Turfgrass Science is concerned with the principles and practices of turfgrass establishment, management, and production for aesthetic, recreational, and conservation purposes. This major requires a balance among courses in basic science, applied areas, and business, and it affords an opportunity to develop an area of expertise with the general field.

- Landscape Contracting and Maintenance Specialist - works with landscape contracting and maintenance firms to supply expertise and service to residential and commercial property owners.
- Golf Course Superintendent - organizes and directs maintenance of public and private golf course facilities.
- Vegetation Manager - works with Department of Transportation to provide expertise in managing vegetation along roadsides.
- Industrial Representative - sells and service turfgrass products, including equipment, fertilizers, seed, pesticides, and others.
- Conservation - works with environmental consulting firms to help landowners and users control erosion and pollution; promotes the wise use of natural resources.
- Cemetery Manager - organizes and directs maintenance of landscapes of large cemetery operations.
