Student Life

It's hard to equal student life at Penn State.

Ag Sciences has more than 30 clubs and organizations that students can join to make friends with people with similar interests. Penn State, as a whole, offers more than 600 clubs and organizations in addition to late night movies, intramural sports, concerts, and performances. Regardless of your objective, there's a lot going on and you won't be bored.

More than making friends, our extracurricular activities also allow you to sample agricultural interests outside your major and to build your resume. Many of our faculty are active in clubs and organizations so it's a good way to meet your profs outside the classroom. We also have four fraternities and a sorority that give you the chance to spend more time with other Ag Sciences students.

Ag Sciences has seven student judging teams that compete with other colleges and universities in the Northeast and throughout the U.S.

If outdoor recreation is your thing, you will find some of the best biking, hiking, fishing, and canoeing a short drive from campus.

Take a look at our Science for Your Life tabloid!  It's a newspaper full of stories and pictures about students, activities and more. Click HERE to download the PDF version.

Be sure you watch the EARTH House tour on our video site. It's a special residence hall for students interested in food, agriculture, and the natural resource sciences. Penn State also offer residential interest houses in engineering and applied science, international cultures, life sciences, business and society, and science, technology, and society.

Students from many backgrounds and cultures make Ag Sciences their home. You'll get to make many new friends that may be different from yourself. Ag Sciences welcomes and encourages diversity in our student body, faculty, and staff.
